A recent Ladies poker tournament held in the stunning Borgata Casino Atlantic City awarded the winner $20,892 a substantial win but nothing particularly unusual until you realise that the winner of this Ladies poker tournament was a man.
Abraham Korotki a 65 year old poker player entered the tournament despite the Borgata staff tyring desperately and apparently tactfully to try to persuade him from doing so.
Obviously a person with a chip on his shoulder for some reason Korotki beat the field and then refused to deal with second place finisher Nicole Rowe who was recovering from recent breast cancer surgery. There is nothing stopping a male player entering a ladies only poker tournament as discrimination is not allowed under gaming law, that’s fair comment but the law is one thing where as common decency and respect are another.
It’s reported Abraham Korotki said “It’s always nice to win a tournament. The ladies played very well and it’s always nice for the weaker sex to have a victory,” something he either found funny or sarcastic?
Either way which man in their right mind would enter an all female tournament and treat fellow players with such low regard. Korotki has pledged to donate his winnings a charity which may be down to pressure or maybe he is a nice guy! Whatever the case Korotki’s actions have done nothing to enhance the reputation of poker and nothing for his own self respect.
Would any of you male players entered an all female poker tournaments and acted like this?
