EPT London Preview

Posted by David Cowell on September 28, 2010 at 8:07 GMT

Conveniently scheduled to coincide with the London Poker Festival and the WSOPE, the third leg of the PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Series 7 kicks off at the Hilton Metropole Hotel on the Edgware Road tomorrow (Wednesday 29th September).

Fresh from his successes at the WSOPE and WCOOP will be PokerStars pro Jason Mercier, accompanied by other stars of the Pro Team – Anh Van Nguyen, Joe Hatchem, Boris Becker, Chris Moneymaker, Vanessa Rousso (worth making the trip to London for!) and Daniel Negreanu.

The PokerStars qualifiers for the events have now finished, but direct buy-ins are available on line (visit PokerStars > Events > EPT > Qualifiers) including an all-star charity event in aid of Cancer Research UK,  with £100.000 in guaranteed prize money and buy-ins of £200.00 + £10.00 + £10.00.

The “big” game is the £5.250 buy-in Main Event which was last year won by Aaron Gustavson who collected a nice PokerStars sized cheque of £850.000 for his victory over former WSOP champion Peter Eastgate. With the dollar a little stronger against the pound than it was this time last year, we might see more participants from across the pond and breach the £1 million first prize.

The EPT London runs until Monday 4th October, with updates available daily on UK Poker Player
