Grand Series of PokerIf you have been caught up in all the action at the World Series of Poker and forgotten to qualify for the Grand Series of Poker (GSOP), it is not too late to get involved with this major UK poker tournament which starts on Wednesday at the Old Trafford Football Stadium in Manchester.

Direct buy-ins of $1,500 + $150 are still available at the Midland Hotel or at Manchester´s G Casino however, due to the fact that the event is not being staged in a casino, LATE REGISTRATIONS ARE NOT ALLOWED and direct buy-ins to the event close at 11.00 am on Wednesday 3rd August.

There is a last chance re-buy satellite being hosted at the G Casino on the Bury New Road tomorrow (Tuesday – 10.00pm) with a £50.00 buy-in and, with an estimated 300 players already registered for the event, it is worth having a crack in this tournament for the potential prize money on offer at the GSOP.

No Manchester United Players Allowed!

Even though the tournament is being hosted at soccer´s “Theatre of Dreams” there will be no players from Manchester United´s squad taking part. They instead will be training for the Paul Scholes testimonial match which takes place on Friday, and which means an early finish to Day 3.

Players who have qualified through online packages, and players still in the game on Friday, will have excellent seats to the Manchester United v New York Cosmos game, which sees the return of Eric Cantona to Old Trafford – this time as managerial adversary to Sir Alex Ferguson.
