Britian is now seeing the start of the annual Grosvenor UK Poker Tour Summer Series. Essentially, it is the same selection of events as the GUKPT, except with smaller buy ins (which can only be good news for most fans of the felt in Britain, given our current economy). The action started over the weekend in Brighton, with Dave McConachie being crowned Champion of the £500 Main Event. He outlasted a field of 59 runners in order to boost his bankroll by a respectable £10,200.
Although he is still a relative fledgling on the UK pro circuit, Dave McConachie took a first place wins at the Fox Poker Club £300 No Limit Hold’em event in March. He also won the £55 Main Event Satellite to the London Poker Masters 2011. Winning the GUKPT Summer Series Brighton marks his second largest cash win to date.
The final table payouts were as follows:
1 – Dave McConachie – £10,240
2 – David Johnson – £7,360
3 – Jeff Kimber – £4,880
4 – Steve Vigor – £2,880
5 – Michael Welland – £2,320
6 – Robin Fisher – £1,760
7 – William Dorey – £1,440
8 – Anthony Adderley – £1,120
