Nikolay Rosev Tops WSOP 2011 $2,500 Mixed Hold’em Event

wsop 2011Russian Nikolay Rosev leads the way in the $2,500 Mixed Hold’em (Limit/No-Limit) event after the conclusion of day one of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) tournament in Las Vegas last night.

A total of 580 players signed up for event #52, but that was cut down to just 127 chasing the $303,501 top prize and gold bracelet as big-name players such as Daniel Negreanu, John Juanda, David Chiu, Hoyt Corkins, Jerry Bust, David Williams, Antonio Esfandiari, Erick Lindgren, Mike Sexton, Jennifer Lee and Michael Mizrachi busted out early.

Moscow’s Rosev, however, holds the chip lead on 114,100, followed by California’s Joseph Cheong (93,800) and Vincent Vanderfluit (86,200), of the Netherlands, while New York State’s Dylan Drazen (85,700) and another Russian, Sergey Rybachenko (84,700), complete the top five heading into day two.

Just 54 of this evening’s returning 127 players will make the money – with $5,106 the minimum on offer – in the Amazon Room of the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino as they all eye up the prestigious gold bracelet for a WSOP victory.
