Having recently dealt their 60 billionth hand, the team at PokerStars have come up with a superb new promotion to fill the gap between the “60B” celebrations and the Spring Cup Of Online Poker (SCOOP) tournament series which starts on 8th May.
Having given away Lamborghinis and luxury holidays in exotic destinations, you might have felt that their previous generosity could not be surpassed. However, they have outshone themselves once again with the “Game of Your Life” promotion.
PokerStars “Game of Your Life”
The “Game of Your Life” is not, as it may appear, a prize which has anything to do with poker. The promotion offers its winner VIP front row seats at any sporting event in the world for you and as many friends as you wish to bring along – up to a maximum value of $100.000.
This prize does not only include entrance and seats to events, but also includes all your travel and accommodation costs AND if you do not manage to max out the generous budget going to your first choice “Game of Your Life”, you can add on as many more sporting events as you can manage.
Here is just a taster of some of the leading sporting events in 2011 –
June – Epsom Derby – Surrey
July – Copa America – Argentina
August – USPGA Championship – Atlanta
September – Rugby World Cup – New Zealand
October – Japanese Grand Prix
November – Melbourne Cup Australia
If that is not enough for you, the prize has a life of a full 12 months, so you can plan ahead right up to the FA Cup final in May 2011.
How to Win the “Game of Your Life”
PokerStars have split their clientele into two halves – “The Americas” and “The Rest of the World”. Each half has the opportunity to play for a place in the final via a series of freeroll poker tournaments which take place every day until May 21st.
If you qualify through one of the satellite freerolls (the top 108 in each freeroll game go through), you automatically enter a weekly freeroll tournament with a prize pool of $100.000. However, you can unregister for that week’s tournament if you wish and go directly for the final!
Each player is only allowed one freeroll entry per week, so it is often better to wait until the end of the week to enter when the number of opponents is much smaller. Alternatively, you can enter the satellite tournaments which have an entry fee of 10 Frequent Player Points as many times as you like, and qualify for all five weekly $100.000 tournaments PLUS the “Game of Your Life Final”.
