Daniel Negreanu is delighted that the preliminary events at the 42nd World Series of Poker are out of the way, and he promises his supporters a “fresh start” as he competes in the $50,000 buy-in Players Championship (Event 55). Describing on Twitter how the early events at the WSOP have been a “complete disaster” for him, Negreanu also revealed that he has bought a property in Toronto and intends to return there once the “series” is concluded in order to continue playing online at PokerStars.
Hellmuth is Sick! No, Really Sick!
Phil “Never Gonna get a 12th Bracelet” Hellmuth was also in the mood for revealing personal feelings, when tweeting to his followers that he had experienced difficulty breathing yesterday morning. Despite Hellmuth´s wife insisting that his mouth was working perfectly well (stop it – she was on the other end of a phone!), he called for a Emergency Medical Technician, who diagnosed he had dehydration and ordered him to knock back plenty of water. Problem solved? We will see!
Sam Trying Everything
It has not been the greatest start to a tournament series for UK poker player Sam Trickett. Sam, who recently renewed his sponsorship deal with Titan Poker, acknowledged that his one cash from twenty WSOP events was not particularly inspiring and he was trying everything to get a good deep run in a valuable tournament. “Everything” according to Sam included getting drunk, not getting drunk, registering early for an event, registering late for an event and even taking time out to release the pressure on the shooting range (Anybody seen James Bord lately?). Hopefully all of Sam´s luck is going to land in his lap during the Main Event.
