The WSOPE 2011 Schedule has been released and looks great! The down side to this of course is that for the first time the World Series of Poker Europe is not being held on British soil and makes its way across the channel to Cannes, France, which lets be honest is a better place to be playing poker.
The schedule includes 8 events in total, 7 of which are bracelet events, the one which isn’t for a coveted bracelet is the final event a no limit holdem ladies event which seems strange as ladies love jewelry more than men?
The whole festival kicks off on Friday the 7th of October to Thursday the 20th of October 2011 and there is something to suit most bankrolls, the cheapest is the ladies only event costing a mere €550, and the biggest entry fee is of course the main championship event which will set you back €10,400 (£9,063) or you could use your head and win a seat online.

The WSOPE 2011 Venue
You can’t got jetting off to Cannes only to find a horrible venue and rough place to stay, luckily the venue is Le Croisette – Casino Barrière de Cannes, where everything is pretty much WOW. The casino itself is huge and a superb venue for a prestigious poker event such as the WSOPE.
Be sure to have you passport handy for entrance to the casino, the staff speak perfect English so for those who don’t know any French you’ll get by just fine, learning some might not be a bad idea as it will enlighten you, and make you look cleverer than you really are which has always been my philosophy
The Hotel Majestic Barriere has rooms from around £144 for 2 adults per night, which is a pretty good rate. You could easily treat this as a holiday if you can plan your stay around your chosen event as there is plenty to see and do in Cannes, plus the view from the rooms is slightly better than you would have had if the WSOPE had stayed in London.
I’d advise you to shop around for hotels but do it quickly as places should fill up pretty fast, there will be poker players from around the World flying here so space although plentiful will become limited closer to the time.
You can qualify online and make this an almost dream come true via www.wsop.co.uk
Best of luck to all those making the trip I hope to be writing the title is coming back across the channel to British shores.
