All change at the top on day 4 of the WSOPE Main Event, as only three of the players that held top ten positions at the start of the day negotiated their way through to the final table, and yet again there is a new leader!
All eyes were on Messers Ivey and Blom, hoping for a “big-name-big-game” presence on the final table, but it was not to be as Ivey´s AT fell to Ronald Lee´s AK and Blom´s pocket eights crushed by Brian Powell´s KQ early in the day. Overnight leader Lee played solid poker all day long without being spectacular, and still holds an excellent position two blinds behind new leader Dan “Who´s Your Daddy” Fleyshman.
Childless Fleyshman is CEO of Victory Poker (recent addition to the Cake Poker Network) and the “Who´s Your Daddy” name is a reference to a clothing chain he owns. He previously has had a series of victories at the Mega Stack Showdown events at the Las Vegas Hard Rock Casino to his name, and a five year history which shows a 50% record of finishing first when he makes the final table.
A day long charge up the leader board saw big chip victories against Brian Powell, Bojan Gledovic and Marc Inizan – at one point holding over 2 million chips before slipping back a little in the final session of the day.
Overnight second and third placed David Peters and Andrew Pantling finished 10th and 11th respectively, and now it is onto the final table and final day, with the promise of a late, late finish if previous WSOPE Main Events are anything to go by – John Juanda holding the record for a 23 hour grind to victory in 2008.
As soon as the victor is crowned, UK Poker Player will be posting details of the final day’s action, leaving Leicester Square and heading up the Edgware Road to follow the major events at the EPT London.
